Project Start
We have found, through experience, that 90 - 95% of all potential savings take place prior to the actual construction period. That is the time when costs can be more easily anticipated, analyzed and negotiated. It will also result in more accurate scheduling, minimize change orders, and make for a very successful project.
Upon selection of The Kinder Company as your General Contractor/ Project Manager, we will provide you with a preliminary construction schedule generated specifically from the plans of your home. The accuracy of this schedule will depend on the information we have available to us; the more detailed the information, the more accurately we can develop your schedule. Once the actual construction process has started, we will update the schedule as necessary. You will be kept informed of all changes in the schedule as they occur.
Creating and maintaining a realistic schedule can save both time and money. The schedule acts as a flexible guideline to assist in making informed decisions regarding your project. It can also serve as a goalpost to help bring the project in on time. Realistic and reliable scheduling will bring all members of the construction team together. Conflicts with weather, delivery times and subcontractor overlaps can be avoided with accurate scheduling. Even a basic schedule will eliminate "dead spots" in the construction process.
